Donegal County Council is preparing a Proposed Variation to its County Development Plan, 2018-2024. The Proposed Variation will address one policy area, namely wind energy development. The Variation will contain a small number of amendments. These are likely to include: a.a new wind energy map; b.a new key development management policy that addresses the sub-areas/designations (‘Acceptable in Principle’; ‘Open for Consideration’ and ‘Not Normally Permissible’) as identified on the aforementioned Map; andc.a further development management policy addressing set-back of windfarm developments from sensitive receptors.
