Shaft Secondary Lining Jumpform System

Descriptions

CVBJV is the main contractor for the East section of the Thames Tideway project. There are 5 site in total and 4 sites are being done with a jump form system. The Sites address are: GREPS Thames Water Pumping Station 101 Greenwich High Road LONDON SE10 8JL DEPCS Deptford Work Site Crossfield Street LONDON SE8 3PH EARPS Earl pumping station Yeoman street LONDON SE8 5ET KEMPF Glamis Road St Katharine and Wapping LONDON E1W 3TD The 4 shafts are drop shafts between the existing sewers on surface and the tunnels of the new Thames Tideway project. Therefore, they all have a vortex structure, a vortex generator, and a connection to an interception chamber. Sections and elevations are available further in this document in Appendix A. The lower part of the shaft where the tunnels connect will be already built at the time of the construction. The jumpform system will therefore be used for the construction of the middle and top part of the shaft. The supplier will provide a jump form system (called shutter hereafter) to cast the secondary lining for the 4 construction site's shafts. The formwork for the lower section where the tunnels connect will be part of a different brief. The shutter will be a single face arrangement*, suitable to pour 3m lifts, which will allow the pour of the vortex, and fitted with 3 levels of platforms as described in the section 3.2 Shutter Arrangement. The shutter will be adaptable to the different diameter of the shafts and the different dimensions of the vortex. The shutter will be able to cope with the different sequence of pour of the vortex generator. The supply will include: - The full design, with optional CAT 3 design check, in accordance with the deliverable in the section 4.2 below. - All the hydraulic system required for the "jumping" operation. A solution "pulled" from the top of the shaft, with a strand jack system can be proposed. - All the guiding system to control and maintain the shutter within the required 25mm tolerance. Manpower will need to be supplied to supervise the jumping operation, and the checking of tolerances. - The design and supply of all the embedded items needed to support the shutter. These items will have to meet the requirement of the permanent work repair procedure. - All access within the shutter itself, and working platforms - All access ladders and access hatches - All the edge protection including the net/tarpaulin/etc to block the view and/or maintain a closed environment - The adapted amount of supervision for the assembly and dismantling of the shutter. - Spare parts stored on site for the most common failures
