Glasgow City Council has a strong track record of successfully delivering large scale regeneration projects. Working with strategic partners through Transforming Communities: Glasgow, our partnership with Scottish Government and Glasgow Housing Association we have developed a 250m (GBP) masterplan for the Sighthill TRA. This redevelopment of Sighthill represents 1 of the most ambitious programmes of urban renewal in the UK. The masterplan aims to create a vibrant, pedestrian friendly, urban residential neighbourhood, providing sustainable living with a diverse range of accommodation and an enhanced new green network, all in close proximity to the city centreWithin this procurement, the Council seeks to appoint a single development partner (or consortia) to deliver the residential led development of Sighthill.The main objectives of the development are:1. To deliver 650 housing units;2. To deliver potential commercial space;3. To identify and deliver a suitable development on the alternative site;4. To provide an exemplar of urban regeneration, well designed and built to the highest environmental standards;5. To deliver a sustainable diverse and marketable outcome with open spaces and amenity areas that contribute to meeting sustainability objectives;6. The provision of a low carbon development both by its design and function;7.
