Soft Market Test: Rigid Plastics Recycling or Recovery Services and Treatment of Other Separated Mat

Leicestershire County Council wishes to examine opportunities for providing a long term, economically advantageous solution for the recycling or recovery of c. 1000-2000 tonnes per annum of Council rigid plastics (a mix of items such as plastic furniture, plant pots, buckets, boxes, children’s toys etc.) and treatment of other separated materials. A questionnaire is available for interested parties to download and return via www.eastmidstenders.org as part of our commissioning review to examine the opportunities available to provide a cost effective, long term solution for managing this material. It is anticipated any formal contract would commence from spring / summer 2019 with potential contract periods between 1-5 years. For the avoidance of doubt, this notice is for the purpose of conducting a soft market testing exercise and will not formally begin the procurement or constitute any commitment by the Council to undertake any procurement exercise. This is not a call for competition.
