Software package for creating meshes for finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics fr

Descriptions

A software package is required for creating meshes for finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics from three dimensional images (e.g. from X-ray tomography). The software must have the following capabilities:- User friendly interface with full documentation- Extensive training/tutorial material- Import tiff 2D stacks, 3D raw volume (8-bit to 32-bit)- Import .stl and .step- Fix imported CAD- Import meshes from Abaqus and Ansys (ability to re-mesh to user criteria)- Export as Abaqus and Ansys mesh- Export 3D pdf object- Registration of image and CAD for comparison of surfaces to measure deviation- Give estimate on quality of fit- Multi image registration- Image processing tools to clean data- Semi-automated segmentation- Use of primitive shapes (cylinder etc.) to aid segmentation- Segmented volumes which can occupy same space (i.e. overlapping) to allow child-volumes- Boolean operators to manipulate segmented volumes- Comprehensive metrology and statistical framework- Visualisation tools, including animation generation- Control over mesh refinement and coarsening optimised against multiple mesh quality metrics- Meshing based on combination of segmented labels and greyscale background, demonstrably robust- Apply material properties based on greyscale values- Multi part meshing- Create node, element and surface sets particularly on contact surfaces- Provide detailed statistics on mesh output (e.g. quality of elements)- Output in global or local coordinate systems- Scripting of workflow using python with full documented API- Macro recording / log history which can be used for automation- Compatibility with user-created plugins- FDA 510(k) clearanceThis list is not exhaustive and additional capabilities will be considered in the event that multiple vendors meet the above criteria.A 5-year software licence is sought, with accompanying software upgrades and full technical support for the duration of the licence period.
