Sportscotland National Centre Inverclyde, based in Largs, North Ayrshire, was confirming the need for providing modern, flexible and fit for purpose residential, learning, meeting/conference and administrative office accommodation to support high quality sports training facilities on site.Despite the investment of recent years, evidence showed that the existing building is no longer fit for purpose and has a layout which prevents the Centre from maximising its revenue generating potential due to the inability to accommodate mixed groups.For a sustainable future, the Centre needs to fully embrace inclusivity in all able bodied and para-sports. It recognises the need for flexibility between, and accessibility to and from, all spaces to suit those who are both able bodied and disabled. It also has a role as a residential centre for schools, for clubs and venues to accommodate residential coaching and volunteer development programmes, as well as accommodating events and competitions including world sailing events held in Largs.Sportscotland was seeking to appoint a Main Contractor-led Project Team including Project Manager/Cost Consultant, Architect, Structural Consultant, M&E Consultant, Landscape Architect, BREEAM Consultant and CDM-C to progress the Design and Build proposal from the equivalent RIBA Stage 2 to completion of Stage 7.
