SPU CO43-2021 - Review of Four Upland/Uncommon Grassland Habitats
Descriptions
A review of four upland/uncommon grassland habitats. These are: Species‐rich Nardus grasslands, on siliceous substrates in mountain areas (and submountain areas, in Continental Europe)* 6230; Hydrophilous tall herb fringe communities of plains and of the montane to alpine levels 6430; Siliceous alpine and boreal grasslands 6150; and, Alpine and subalpine calcareous grasslands 6170. Each of these grassland types lack data in Ireland, either in terms of their occurrence and distribution, or in terms of their ecological make-up and characterisation. This project will aim to fill some of these data gaps and to develop our understanding further, thus enabling better conservation efforts. See RfT document for full specification
