Descriptions
Kent County Council (the Employer) is the largest local authority in England covering an area of 3 500 km². It has an annual expenditure of over 1 000 000 000 GBP on goods and services and a population of 1 300 000. The Employer provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils. The Employer consists of three operational directorates (Social Care, Health and Wellbeing; Education and Young People's Services; and Growth, Environment and Transport) and one service directorate (Strategic and Corporate Services). This requirement is for rural swathe, visibility and hedge cutting as required by the specification. It is expected that the contract will commence upon 1.4.2017 and will continue for a period of three years unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract attached in this Invitation to Tender. The Contractor will be responsible for programmed works with flexibility for additional ad-hoc provision. The main service areas comprise; rural grass cutting (swathe) and ensuring visibility at road junctions. Cutting of rural hedges owned by KCC is also undertaken. Contractors are expected to have local knowledge and experience to deliver the service described in Schedules 6 and 7.
