Stake holder Survey Volunteering Wales

Descriptions

TSSW in partnership with Welsh Government is investing in both in the current Volunteering Wales platform to maximise its use and impact whilst also undertaking a comprehensive engagement and planning process to explore how a future version of the system could better support the diverse needs of volunteers, the voluntary sector, public sector and wider stakeholders. As part of this work TSSW are looking for a consultant to engage with stakeholders to survey the use of the existing Volunteering Wales platform along with any other platforms used. The project requires the in-depth survey of volunteers, users, operators and organisations considering the use of the or a volunteering Wales platform.Expected outcomes to include: what systems if any stake holders are engaging with, pros & cons, willingness to look at new systems and what stakeholders expect a system to include and be able to do. Also, how do volunteers expect to engage. This will require a variety of research methods to ensure underlying viewpoints are included.SpecificationVolunteering Wales is the preferred platform to recruit and register volunteering activity in Wales. The present system has been in operation since 2018 and the WCVA is conducting a review on its effectiveness. Volunteering Wales is not the only volunteer recruitment platform in use across Wales and during the Coronavirus pandemic especially several stakeholders did not engage with any formal platforms at all.Step 1SurveyUndertake a Stake holder survey of the existing platforms used to manage volunteers across Wales including the Volunteering Wales Platform. The project requires the in-depth survey of volunteers, users, operators and organisations considering the use of the volunteering Wales platform or indeed any other platform. This will include discussions with existing users of the Volunteering Wales platform, as well as engaging with other stakeholders (see list below).Step 2Existing systemSpecifically, the surveys need to engage with operators of the existing system and provide an extensive and detailed report on the pros and cons of the system. This will require in depth discussions with operators.Step 3Other systemsExpected outcomes to include: what systems if any stake holders are engaging with, pros & cons, willingness to look at new systems and what would stakeholders expect a system to be able to do and how they expect volunteers to engage. This will require a variety of research methods to ensure underlying viewpoints are included including focus groups.Step 4Future systemWhat and how a future system will look like is also part of our review. The project survey will need to report on the aspirations of stakeholders. This needs to be clearly categorised within the report; as a minimum but not exclusive:•Users of the current existing system•Other users•Volunteer user experience•Operational requirements•Managerial requirements•Reporting requirementsStep 5Final reportDetailing the information collected, summarising the key themes, detailed ‘shopping list’ for future systems and producing an executive summary.Project to be fully completed by 30 July 2021.List of stakeholdersWelsh Local Government AssociationAll Local Authorities in WalesAll Health boards in WalesWales Council for Voluntary ActionAll 19 CVCs in WalesVolunteer Centres3rd Sector OrganisationsAll sectors of the Emergency ServicesAll main National ParksWelsh GovernmentSports groupsYouth organisationsVolunteers both formal and informal
