STEM Apprenticehips Promotion re-tender
Descriptions
Manufacturing and Engineering are industrial sectors that have highlighted the need for high quality apprenticeship applicants at all levels of entry into the profession. Semta have agreed that there is a need for a programme aimed at 3 specific age ranges of learner which hopefully will INSPIRE to ask about Engineering disciplines now and in the future, to MOTIVATE them into learning and following Engineering paths of study and to NURTURE enrolment onto APPRENTICESHIP programmes at all Levels. With I aM aN Engineer as the mantra and forming the key performance and design indicators of any programme, Semta wish to award a series of contracts to design and deliver a programme of awareness learning and training for 14 to 16 year olds, 16 to 18 year olds and over 18 year olds. (Please note the age ranges are for general guidance only and no learner should be disadvantaged from any programme if they are suitable.)Semta and the Industries it represents need the programmes to be new and refreshing from a delivery and learner experience point of view taking advantage of thought provoking outstanding teaching and learning practices available in Private Training Organisations and Further and Higher Educational Institutions available to deliver in strategic regions of Wales. The programme will also introduce learners to Industrial standard workshop facilities, visits to Industry as well as visits from Industry via inspirational speakers inclusive of existing Apprentices acting as ambassadors for the industry.Semta using Local Market Intelligence (LMI) has identified South East Wales (LOT 5) as a strategic region, where the programme is hoped to be offered depending on budget constraints. Bids are expected from individual organizations but Semta will welcome consortia bids if this is the most efficient way to provide the best learning opportunities for learnersNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=3210.
