Strategic and coaching support

Descriptions

Awarded using Supplier's Terms and Conditions. Requirement: Strategic and coaching support Since January 2023 you have: • Assembled a new Senior Leadership Team, recruiting a number of new individuals and beginning the process of developing the team. • Developed a stronger relationship with the Chair and the Board. • Led Ofwat's response to a number of high profile, delicate issues facing the water industry. • Engaged with stakeholders in Government, industry, and the investor community at critical moments. • Initated the development of a more agile, dynamic performance culture, focused on the delivery of the strategy. Our work together has covered all of these areas, helping you to make wise decisions, react thoughtfully, and focus your attention on the right areas. The work together will comprise: • Review any Ofwat documents you feel are relevant to our work to provide suggestions and challenge to help improve their design and/or delivery. • Eight sessions (typically 60-90 minutes, every two to four weeks) to discuss progress, share ideas, work out how to overcome obstacles. I will give you ways to structure your thinking, guidance, ideas, lessons from others in similar roles, encouragement and accountability. I will pro-actively bring my own experience of working with other leaders to highlight areas of focus too, as well as tools and frameworks. We will focus on these topics (identified at this stage and subject to change): o How to be more agile 'in the moment' - especially when there are differences of views or conflict. o How to develop and use a powerful narrative about the strategy for Ofwat - to inform priorities and activities. o How to develop, empower, and incentivise your SLT and the wider leadership to enhance their performance. o How to strengthen your brand and reputation in the industry, Government, and wider stakeholders. • The use of a portfolio of tools that can help you prioritise your time, make the best decisions, and convey (and execute) your priorities effectively. This will include your personal narrative and talking points on strategy and culture. • Feedback on your impact and style when you are giving three virtual presentations (e.g. to stakeholders or Ofwat), assuming they are recorded. • Rehearse you and/or role play you for two important moments - whether a presentation to the Board, a meeting with a stakeholder - to help anticipate likely questions and identify any changes to your content or style. • Give you access to me in between on an as needs basis, e.g. on email, text or call, to discuss an issue, as well as my network as agreed. The sessions will be conducted virtually via zoom.
