Street Arts Infrastructure and Festival Plan

Descriptions

OverviewSwansea Council will shortly be inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced creative partnerships to assess the optimum methodology for creating a street arts infrastructure in Swansea; for example utilising gable ends, key junctions, dwell points and landmark buildings to create a ‘blueprint’ of usable sites for street artists and in some possible situations, graffiti writers, to present new urban artworks and gateway features for the city. The brief includes the need to commission the first series of artist commissions for this new infrastructure, within the budget available, but it is expected that the infrastructure will enable regular street arts commissions and stimulate an expansion to districts, and potentially an annual festival for the city and region, managed and steered by Swansea Council. The anticipated time scales areEnd March: Return of TendersEnd April: CommencementSeptember: New artworks on displaySelection processThe partnership will be selected on the basis of the quality/price and relevance of their past work experience to the brief and will be subject to a formal quotation and presentation exercise led by Swansea Council, in order to be a part of the quotation process please respond to this notice with the required information required below.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=118245.
