Structural condition survey report and recommendations of the suspended deck structure that supports Seacombe Ferry Terminal
Descriptions
Seacombe Ferry Terminal, Wirral comprises a terminal building, floating pontoon, passenger bridge, vehicle bridge and two restraining booms. The terminal building and the two bridges are supported by a suspended pier structure which extends out from the Seacombe quay wall. The client wishes to undertake another cycle of works to the suspended pier structure to safeguard its structural integrity for the next 25 years (to 2045). This will commence with a Principal Inspection (incorporating an Inspection for Assessment(IfA)) to record the current condition of the structure. This shall include the performance of the repairs undertaken since c2004. In addition to the Principal Inspection (incorporating IfA), a Maintenance Strategy Report is required for the safe upkeep of the pier structure for the next 25 years (to 2045). Arising from the inspection, a programme for the resulting recommended remedial works over the next 5 years (to 2025/2026) is to be prepared. The client's aspiration is that following the implementation of remedial works, only steady state maintenance works will be required to 2045. This is a call-off from Lot 4 of the Merseytravel Consultancy Services Multiparty Framework Agreement 2019 - 2023.
