Commissioning a replacement of our Student Information Management Systems (SIMS). This is not an administrative tool: SIMS will be a key way to leverage our skills and resources to achieve our stated commitment.This is a strategic investment, enabling the University to make the student journey at Hull (from initial engagement, recruitment & admission through to graduation and Alumni relations) more effective and efficient for both parties. As a mission critical system for the University, it will drive enhancements in business intelligence and management information, in business performance management, in operations management, and will make significant contributions to institutional strategic objectives.We have defined an ambitious scope of services, and expect some will be provided by interfaces to other best-in-breed packages that should be considered as jigsaw components rather than standalone entities. The ability of SIMS to provide a seamless user experience will be key. This will require managed integration of data and end-to-end processes across commercial off the shelf (COTS) packages, with a consistent “look and feel” being presented to the user.
