Supertram Enterprise Asset Management System
Descriptions
The Asset Management System (AMS) must provide a robust, unlimited asset hierarchy, forming the foundation for all downstream asset management processes.
This hierarchy must allow for the organisation of assets into systems, subsystems, and components, each with unique identifiers and metadata attributes. The system must support both list and tree hierarchy formats, enabling users to easily locate assets by ID, name, or other attributes, and to visualise parent–child relationships (e.g., a tramcar with its major components, or a track line with segment subdivisions).
The AMS must also differentiate asset ownership and operational arrangements, such as assets owned by SYMCA, leased, or operated by contractors, and flag these accordingly. Each asset record should link to its corresponding financial asset ID to ensure alignment with accounting systems. Role-based access controls must be in place to restrict visibility or editing rights for certain asset classes, ensuring that, for example, external contractors only see relevant subsets. This foundational capability underpins all maintenance, compliance, and reporting activities, and is critical for regulatory and operational integrity.
