The Library and NRS use KasemakeCAD box making machines to make archival storage boxes. The Organisations require a call-off framework for supply & deliver of archival boxboard and associated goods & services as detailed below. The Organisations contribute to the effective administration of Scotland by collecting, holding, preserving, archiving & making available to the public, certain public records and archival collection materials. The archival boxes made from the box board provide a micro-environment for material collections including books, paper & manuscripts, protecting them from fluctuations in temperature, relative humidity, exposure to light, dust, handling damage and accidental release of water. All storage and archival work undertaken by the Organisations is carried out in compliance with ISO 16245:2009 and BS 4971:2002 - The Organisations also require, fluted/corrugated boxboard, delivery and a proposed solution for the uplift and recycling of archival boxboard “off cuts”.
