Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S. In order to maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that includes expansion of its facilities and range to motivate increased sales and product marketability.Puffin Produce plan investment by further increasing scale, efficiency and infrastructure of their current potato operation. As such, they are currently developing an expansion of their Dispatch area with the inclusion of a mezzanine floor and more efficient chilling facilities.This invitation to tender is in request of quotes for a the supply and complete installation of full electrical services to the Dispatch area.NEW COLD STOREThis electrical installation is to be carried out in accordance with the following regulations:•IEE Regulations - Current 17th Edition•All relevant British Standards•Health and Safety at Work Act•Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994•Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992•Factories Act•Public Health Act•The Building Regulations•The Electricity at Work RegulationsAll supplied drawings and images to be viewed in conjunction with this specification:•PP2/101 Ground floor lighting, power and fire alarms. Scale 1:75•PP/202 First floor lighting, power and fire alarms. Scale 1:75SCOPE OF WORKSProvide/include the following services:-Include for any certified access equipment, lifting equipment, all required bracketry and fixings, CIS cards.Isolate, strip out or relocate as required existing services, including the old chill store services, power, lighting and fire alarms.Carry out the installation of a refrigeration distribution board including:he Main LV Switch Board MCCB connection.Provide LightingProvide Small PowerProvide Fire Alarm installation.Provide External LightingMAINS AND SUB MAINS DISTRIBUTIONThe existing refrigeration distribution board and sub main cable is to be removed.A new cable is to be installed from the external main LV switchroom to the same location as the existing DB. This cable will consist of parallel, 2 x 4c 70mm XLPE SWA PVC cables and 1 x 1c 50mm CPC drawn through existing ducts and attached to existing cablecontainment. Care must be taken to protect other existing cables. The cables have been measured as 90 meters each.The vacant MCCB within the LV panel is to be adjusted to 180 amps.The new distribution board must be fitted with a 250 amp bus bar and incoming switch to accommodate the 2 x 4c 70mm swa cables and the potential to increase the potential load to 200 amps plus. Due to the requirement to connect the refrigeration equipment to type D mcb's a low Zs value is required at the Distribution board, requiring the additional CPC.LIGHTINGLayout as per the drawing, the ground floor dispatch area is to be illuminated with colour adjusting LED lighting to provide a green illumination.Switches to be MK Masterseal.First floor requiring a reduced level of white LED illumination as required by Puffin Produce.EXTERNAL LIGHTINGThe external lighting is to be wired from within the building as part of the internal local lighting circuit. The three fittings are to be PIR controlled complete with a light sensor, two to be fitted with emergency lighting battery backup.POWERMinor power requirements as per the layout, include to supply and install the fly killers. Accessories to be MK MastersealFIRE ALARMSSystem designed for manual operation with enhancements. New equipment to be cut into existing loops. Puffin has an ongoing contract with Advanced Fire Protection, the equipment and commissioning must be purchased from AFP to maintain compatibility, including the fault/fire communication equipment.Please contact Mr John Chapman 01443 843927, john.chapman@AFPwales.comEARTHINGEquipotential bonding required to the main structural steel, 50mm CPC.
