Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Waitrose and M&S. In order to secure and maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that include expansion of its facilities and development of its range of products to motivate increased sales and product marketability.Puffin Produce are currently embarking upon further investment in infrastructure to increase scale and efficiency of the current potato operation.This invitation to tender is aligned to the supply and installation of insulated cladding with new cold storage refrigeration units to existing storage facilities at Puffin Produce Ltd’s site in Withybush, Haverfordwest. This project is supported with European Union funding secured through Welsh Government’s Food Business Investment Scheme. In so doing, Puffin Produce Ltd have a requirement to adhere to EC Procurement Directives in testing the open market and demonstrating value for money.The development project seeks competent suppliers to provide the following schedule of activities:Cladding - Please refer to supporting design drawings and photographs- Clad both sides and one gable end of building, excluding door openings- Side Cladding – supply and install composite insulated cladding to three external sides from 3.7m below eaves down to finished floor level – with Kingspan KS1000RW.- Cladding to be complete with corner boards and drip flashings.- Cladding to be complete with floor plinth/kerbing.Internal Partition - Supply and construct 1 no. internal partition across the width of the cold store to underside of the ceiling in Kingspan 150mm composite insulated cold store panels to form a dividing wall between bays / units referenced 5&4. Please refer to supporting design drawings.Cooling- Installation of two new cold storage refrigeration units, one to be installed within each of the purpose built storage units (4 & 5) on completion of the cladding with composite insulated panels.- Systems supplied must provide advanced energy and environmentally efficient operations with minimal noise.- Equipped to cater for the cooling of 1400 x 1.1 tonne potato crates (1,540 tonnes of potatoes) to a continual temperature of 3°C.- To use R407f refrigerant- Three Phase electricity is available- Minimum of 2 year warranty requiredDoors- Main DoorsSupply and fix in one side of building 2 no additional 5m wide x 5m Combination roller doors set up as per approved doors already fixed to units 1, 2 & 3. Current outer doors on units 1, 2 & 3 are Hormann Sectional Overhead door (SPUF 42). The Inner speed doors are Hormann Fast Action Door (roller door) (V6030SEL).To include additional Steel door framing.- Personnel DoorsSupply and install where required, 4 no. additional personnel Exit/Entry Doors as already installed in Units 1, 2 & 3.Contract Conditions:Liquidated Damages - £2,000 per week or part thereofRectification Period - 6 MonthsRetention Percentage -3%Contractor’s Insurance Cover -£5,000,000Insurance Liability of Employer- £10,000,000Contract Period-Contractor to indicate within Tender
