Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them.Puffin Produce plan investment to further increase scale, efficiency and infrastructure of the current potato operation.This invitation to tender seeks to secure the necessary products and services to facilitate the implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System for - Holding room Inventory & Grower Return Info, RFID hardware for Fork lifts and Server Upgrade at Puffin Produce Ltd’s operational site in Withybush, Haverfordwest.The development project seeks competent suppliers to provide the following schedule of activities:•Puffin Produce Ltd. wish to implement a high-tech software solution in preparing a Manufacturing Execution System for all production and logistical movements within the business system in real-time to maintain stock. The use of a floorplan in excel is still maintained manually and requires a lot of effort to employ effectively. By registering all movement of a potato/vegetable box, it is expected that the excel floorplan can be eliminated. The Holding Room is considered as central point, all movement towards, in and from that area should be recorded on the Manufacturing Execution System.•In addition, Puffin Produce Ltd also require dedicated hardware to register and follow up box movement. Site forklifts will need to be equipped with necessary hardware to identify boxes and register in real-time. When a box is picked up, and confirmed, by forklift hardware, the box should get a 3D position. Each forklift will be associated with a storage zone and each storage box’s location should be known as well as the position of the box within the integrated stacking system. The location from where box was picked up should then become available as well.•Radio Frequency Identification equipment for the 5 forklifts and associated software should be included within the tender submission.•Barcode identification of the boxes will be required and the installation of appropriate equipment and software along with training and support should be included in the tender submission.•The development of a Grower Return function. The system will require total quality assurance, optimal coordination of goods and operators and real-time interaction between systems and staff. The developer will be required to deliver only the data sources and interrogated outputs.
