The University of South Wales has established itself as one of the UK’s leading higher education institutions with an impressive domestic and international track record in graduate and postgraduate teaching and research. With more than 30,000 students and 3,000 staff spread across three main campuses, located in Pontypridd, Cardiff and Newport with a total gross building area for the estate of 145,000m²The contract comprises the installation of metal stud partitions including doors, glazing and ceilings undertaken as part of the University’s Minor Works Programme to a standard as described and scheduled in the specification. The spend for this work is estimated to be in the region of £100k per annum which is not guaranteed and subject to securing relevant funding. The scope of work can range from constructing a single cellular office to the refurbishment of a whole floor of a building consisting of 10-15 offices and classrooms.The Contractor needs to based within a 40 mile radius of Cardiff so as to respond to urgent requests and shall report directly to the University Contract Administrator or its appointed agent who will be responsible for the day-to-day control of the property. The University has an in-house project team who will supply all relevant specifications and drawings for each project.The contract will run for an initial period of 12 months, with an option for renewal, subject to agreement by both parties, at 12, 24 and 36 months to a maximum of 48 months.This renewal option will be subject to periodic reviews of resources, services delivery and quality.
