Puffin Produce Ltd is Wales’ largest premier Potato and Vegetable packing firm. Based in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and established in 1995 the business is wholly owned by the farmers and growers who supply them. The company has grown year on year over the last five years.Puffin Produce Ltd’s growth has been built on proactive engagement with the major retailers and their ability to secure contracts with Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Waitrose and M&S. In order to secure and maintain supply contracts with these leading retailers, Puffin Produce has been at the forefront of continuous development that include expansion of its facilities and development of its range of products to motivate increased sales and product marketability.Puffin Produce are currently embarking upon further investment in infrastructure to facilitate the production of prepared potatoes and vegetables alongside the current potato operation.This invitation to tender is aligned to the supply and installation of Two potato peeling lines capable of processing 3 tonnes per hour each (2 x 3 tonne = 6 tonne per hour)The equipment required as part of this project, to include:Box tippers with associated hoppersDe-stonersCarborundum peelersOptical sortersGrading tables with re-work to peelersDip tanks with dosing systemsSlicers for French fries, halving, quartering, slicing and dicing - with de-slithering / fine removalWeighing apparatus and metal detectionTray filling capability for final productVaccuum packing capabilityAll associated interconnection and bypass belts to form a complete ready to operate lineAssociated waste handling and water treatmentPlease also include separate options and cost proposals for blanching and par-frying French fries plus associated freezing and bagging equipment.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=65188.
