The City and County of Swansea has a requirement for the acquisition of stair lifts to allow those individuals who meet the necessary criteria to be assisted in retaining their independence, and to contribute to the individual remaining within their property and in the community. The requirement calls for the provision of an appropriate stair lift where for a single payment, the successful tenderer will install, provide a fully comprehensive warranty both in parts and labour for the lifetime of the user, which will include service in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, and a breakdown service that will respond on the same day, and to emergencies within 2 hours, 365 days a year. Once the need for the lift has expired, the successful provider will be required to remove the stair lift under the single payment.The contractor must have the capability to supply, install and maintain approximately 400 stair lifts per year in both Private and Council dwellings. The contractor must provide and install straight and curved stair lifts to comply with BS 5776 and BSEN 8140 and must be able to install within 4 weeks of the survey.
