Supply and Maintenance of Fleet Telematics.
Descriptions
The Environment Agency needs to maintain an operational fleet to carry out its core duties, responsibilities and commitments. We have approximately 4 400 fleet assets comprising of commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction (plant) equipment, and boats. These are based at our offices and depots throughout England and are used to help deliver our planned work and in response to incidents. In addition to this fleet, we have approximately 3 500 lease cars which are allocated to eligible employees. We want to install telematics on the majority of our commercial vehicle fleet (approximately 1 400 cars, vans, 4 x 4s, HGVs and dual-purpose vehicles), and on a proportion of our plant / equipment / boats and a proportion of our lease cars (any asset type's proportion may increase during the course of the framework agreement). Our main reason for installing telematics is to enhance the safety of our staff and members of the public. For commercial assets this would be in the form of ‘in-cab' technology in association with coaching intervention (provided by our team leaders) that improves driving style. Use of this framework agreement may be offered to the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and to its associated bodies including any Agencies and non departmental public bodies.
