Supply Chain Mapping - Offshore Wind Sector

Descriptions

The aim of this study is to review the development of offshore wind in Wales exploring how North Wales content could contribute to a UK-wide target of 60% lifetime local content for projects installed in 2030. As well as examining the opportunity which exists for future development for fixed offshore wind in Wales and North Wales and an analysis of the environment in which future developments will operate including identification of any barriers that exist and how they might be addressed. To ensure Wales benefits from hosting major infrastructure we need a better understanding of:(i) what capabilities already exist in Wales beyond those identified for floating (including potential for understanding the capability and scale of transferability to other existing and new technologies)(ii) what opportunities are realistic for Wales and whether these depend on any financial incentives or other support to locate in Wales and what this support might be (within the context of the other potential developments in the region – see accompanying map as an example).NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=128860.
