Supply, Delivery and Commissioning of a Subscale WAAM Cell
Descriptions
This project entails the need to procure a Subscale WAAM Cell which will permit extensive work on additive manufacturing, remanufacturing fronts and support other strategic areas within National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland (NMIS) facilities. It will assist with: -reducing the workload on our other 2 WAAM cells -lowering the need for subcontracting WAAM processes within projects -increasing confidence on using GTA-DED hot-wire process -permitting the delivery of a higher number of AM projects within the centre, increasing investment on the NMIS/AFRC/LMC facilities and interest from partners -Increasing the availability of AM machines to be used in tandem on different projects, e.g. Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) or MELD combined with WAAM -Enable quicker production of studies and outcomes on hybrid approaches, which are key requirements from partners
