A test rig of metal hydride refrigeration system is required to recover waste heat from a Fuel Cell unit and produce cooling for space air conditioning or refrigeration for food storage. The metal hydride refrigeration system can be also applied to other heat sources such as industrial waste heat and renewable energy. Initial research undertaken as part of FLEXIS programme at the University of South Wales has optimized waste management processing of fuel cell for space heating and cooling supported by lab-based analytics.
