To devise an internet based E-Marketplace that becomes the first point of call for all Adult Social Care needs and provision, that acts as a virtual 'one-stop-shop' for information, interaction (assessment), support planning (either virtual, or personal), and transactions (both Council and non-Council).We have placed the E Marketplace and the internet as central to our DASH strategy (Future Lives: Pathways to Independence) with as close to 100 % of our services on line as possible. This needs to be end-to-end processes and not just initial contact, as the internet becomes increasingly the default way to access the Council. However, whilst driving this forward we must not lose sight of the requirements of our Service Users and Carers, and their accessibility issues. To create an effective solution it will need to address accessibility issues as well as providing innovative ways of supporting users, carers and professional to ensure the internet is the 'preferred' choice.
