Derbyshire County council is a registered body with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and processes approximately 15 000 checks annually for itself and eligible contractors and as an Umbrella body for academies, schools, other small organisations and charities and processes DBS applications on their behalf.The introduction of an eBulk system would enable the council to submit multiple applications electronically to the DBS, and reduce the average DBS clearance time significantly.Objectives.To purchase an eBulk Solution by 31st October 2013.To implement an eBulk Solution within Derbyshire County Council by 31st March 2014.To reduce the average DBS clearance to 5 working days by May 2014.To continue a specific process that allows applicants without internet access to submit an application using paper by March 2014.To provide all council establishments, schools and external organisations with access to the Solution by 31st May 2014.
