The Welsh Blood Service are seeking the provision of CE marked automated blood and blood component collection equipment, DISPOSABLE harnesses, consumables and support suitable for the collection of:1.Multiple adult therapeutic doses of platelets from a single donor.2.Hyper-concentrated platelet components for paediatric/intrauterine use.3.Plasma4.Mobilised Peripheral Blood Stem Cells from a single donor.5.Lymphocytes.6.Combinations of platelets, red blood cells and/or plasma from a single donor7.Multiple adult doses of red blood cells in additive solution.The period of contract will be 3 years, with possible extensions of plus one plus one years (5 years).Equipments may be used in a variety of settings, such as static clinics, community venues and bloodmobile vehicles throughout Wales.WBS will require suppliers to provide at the Pre Qualification stage, independent data about phase 0 testing which meets the requirements of the latest version of the Guidelines for the Blood Transfusion Services in the United Kingdom (Red Book), including platelet survival data.A maximum of 3 suppliers will then be chosen for formal validation (Phase 1) and tendering.Tenders to be invited from shortlisted suppliers following validation (phase 1) with contract commencement on 1st April 2012.There is a possibility that the contract could involve other Blood Services.
