Halley VI Research Station is a state of the art facilityoperated by the British Antarctic Survey on behalf ofhe National Environment Research Council. It islocated on the edge of the British Antarctic Territoryon the Brunt Ice Shelf and conduct word-leadingresearch on issues of global importance.Due to recent movement of the ice shelf it isnecessary to move Halley VI station, as a crack hasappeared in the ice. The tip of the crack isapproximately five kilometres from the station and liesbetween the station and the mainland.The purchase of 2 Crawler cranes was made in ordero assist in the moving of the station.
