The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) is a trading fund (executive agency) of the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). The Agency was opened in 1986, with Trading Fund status granted on 1 April 1997 under the Government Trading Funds Act 1973. Its role is to provide conference facilities for national and international meetings and to market its facilities commercially as a high quality venue for both Government and private sector use. DCLG holds title to the land and building.QEIICC have secured funding to undertake the replacement of their conference chairs (circa 3100) and tables (circa 440) and dining room chairs (circa 1200) over the late summer of 2014 intended to improve the facilities at the centre and improve the overall customer experience when using the facility, as part of a three year master plan of capital expenditure.
