Aldershot Crematorium has 3 cremators, 2 of which need replacement. The Council would like to award the contract for the supply of 2 replacement cremators to the current maintenance provider as this will sit well under the maintenance contract.• the crematorium currently has one of three cremators functional leaving us vulnerable from a business continuity viewpoint, this has been highlighted on the risk register.• the proposed supplier have a unique design of a containerised cremator which can be operational within our existing yard area in approximately 12 weeks. The Council need to commission this asap as it is expected the number of cremations will increase as we approach the winter.• at a later date the containerised cremator can also be removed from the container, lowered through the roof and installed within our crematory.
