Supply of Cryogenic Transfer Line, Valvebox and Dewar to Supply Cold Saturated Helium Gas to the Sha

Descriptions

The Authority has a requirement for a Cryogenic Helium supply system to provide the low temperature Helium gas necessary to create frozen pellets which are fired into the fusion reactor to mitigate the effects of plasma disruption. To achieve this, the SPI system requires a continuous feed of cold saturated helium gas at <5K.The specification covers 3 main components:Main Transfer Line: this will be a semi-flexible 2-channel extension to an existing cryogenic line. It will connect to an existing Johnston coupling and will comprise 2 vacuum insulated cores, 1 for LHe supply to the Dewar and one for GHe return. The GHe return will act also as a line shield.Liquid Helium Dewar: A Helium storage dewar will have a maximum capacity of 1 000 litres. In addition to normal helium connections and instrumentation, the Dewar will be fitted with.
