Supply of Hepatitis B Vaccines and Further Anti-Body Testing

The Authority are required under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and specifically under Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (As amended) Regulation 7 paragraph 6(f) to provide vaccination and immunity testing, free of charge to employees likely to be exposed to pathogens in their work. At present all Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (approx 3500 in total) are required to be tested for immunity to Hepatitis B and have Hepatitis B Vaccinations. The Authority requires the Contractor to supply the Hepatitis B Vaccination and also a service whereby Hepatitis B antibody testing is undertaken for all personnel vaccinated. The Authority requires the Contractor to carry out all testing, provide and issue Test Results to the staff and offer an Information service for employees. The vaccine is administered by the Authority’s Occupational Health Nurse based on our Headquarters site.This contract will also be available to Gwent Police and Dyfed Powys Police should they have a requirement in the futureAt present only South Wales Police have a requirement.
