Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks to establish a Framework Agreement with a range of economic operators for the supply of Prosthetic Goods and Prosthetic Consumables to the Specialist Rehabilitation Mobility Centre (SMRC) in Preston:— Prostheses;— Related Consumables.SMRC provides specialist wheelchair and Prosthetic services throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria and also provides Orthotic services locally. The centre currently has 23 000 wheelchair, 2 000 Prosthetic and 12 000 Orthotic (NHS) patients of all ages with long-term mobility problems. A comprehensive service is provided for Upper and Lower amputees, which includes counselling, assessment, supply, modification and maintenance/repair of equipment issued.The Centre's Consultant in rehabilitation medicine leads the multidisciplinary Prosthetic Service Clinical Team; Prosthetists, Orthotists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nursing Staff, Rehabilitation Engineers, Psychologist and Administration Staff. Specialist prosthetic clinics are provided at the SMRC in Fulwood and at Kendal by the centre's multi-disciplinary team.The SMRC is committed to ensuring that patients are given the opportunity, within the limitations of equipment issued, to achieve their full potential in terms of mobility and independence.
