Bron Afon Community Housing Ltd is seeking to let a supply only contract for the supply of domestic Voltage Optimisation Units for installation by others. All of the Bron Afon stock is compliant with the 17th edition of the IEE wiring regulations. Bron Afon is undertaking a project to install Photo-Voltaic electrical generation to approximately 50% of its stock and VOU equipment must be compatible with PV equipment.Bron Afon is a Registered Social Landlord and owns over 8000 properties in the Torfaen region. The stock is comprised of both houses and flats. In general the properties have limited space for the installation of VOU`s and this requirement will be taken into consideration in the evaluation process.Enquires are sought from approved suppliers with the experience in the manufacture and supply of VOU`s. Applications to supply equipment will be judged following the evaluation of an ITT return from interested bidders.Units will be called off over a 2 year period starting in September 2011. It is key to Bron Afon’s business planning to ensure that VOU`s will be available for call off from this time.Bron Afon Community Housing is committed to achieving economic, social and environmental well-being for its residents and implementing the Community Strategy so as to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come. To achieve this it commits to the following actions to the fullest extent possible within the relevant legal and policy frameworks and the available funding:i) To consider what recruitment and training, equal opportunities and supply-chain opportunities could be obtained from each services contract ii) To include training, equal opportunities and recruitment requirements, and supply-chain opportunities in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate;iii) To include other social and environmental matters in its service requirements, where it considers this appropriate; andiv) To use these requirements in all stages of the selection and contract award process, and as contract conditions.
