Support to Tax Reform in Mozambique under the Tax and Economic Governance Programme (TEG)

Descriptions

The Tax component of the TEG programme will support the Mozambican Revenue Authority (MRA) implementing its strategic plan aiming at increasing the levels and efficiency of domestic revenue collection and reduce taxpayers’ compliance costs. We will support initiatives to provide: simplified and more robust processes to register and file taxes; improve data collection and transparency through the automation of MRA procedures; strengthen the new Unit for Taxation of Extractive Industries’ capacity to administer and monitor the extractive industries. We will also support the Government of Mozambique strengthen its capabilities to design tax policies.
