Descriptions

The Housing Related Support Scheme is part of the Supporting People Initiative, which is funded via the Welsh Assembly Government. It encompasses a range of free of charge support services, which can be provided to the residents of Blaenau Gwent. While service users will have a variety and individual intensity of need, there is an expectation that support services will over time reduce as service users achieve higher levels of independence. Therefore, support provision must be, needs led, outcome focussed and time scaled. The service will be provided to wider community and to the extra care schemes as they come on line. Initially, funding for 10 units of support will be available. It is anticipated that this will increase by an additional 10 units when the first Extra Care Scheme opens and a further increase of 10 units when the second Extra Care Scheme is completed.
