Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust ePMA
Descriptions
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust wishes to procure an Electronic Prescription and Medicines Administration system (ePMA). The Trust also wishes to procure the management, support, and business transformation services of the ePMA provider to support the implementation and roll out of this new clinical system. Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and learning disability services to the people of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex. The Trust also provide some community services in Hampshire for children and young people with mental health problems. The Trust employs approximately 5100 staff across circa 400 teams and services throughout the Trust. The Trust has approximately 80 locations, although not all will be providing medicines or require electronic prescribing and medicines administration system. The Trust has 27 inpatient wards, totalling 413 inpatient beds. Full details for services within the Trust are available from https://www.sussexpartnership.nhs.uk/our-locations. It is anticipated that once EPMA is fully embedded, there will be a requirement for approximately 500 concurrent users. For the purposes of electronic prescribing, the solution will be delivering electronic and prescribing of medicines in both inpatient and community settings. The Trust does not currently provide services to either substance misuse or prisons services. Certain services would not be included in the implementation of electronic prescribing and medicines administration system - namely: psychiatric liaison services; the Lindridge Care Home and the PDCA, Avenida Lodge. The Trust utilises Carenotes by Advanced as its electronic patient record system. The Trust has a mixed model for supply of medicines to patients and services. For inpatient services the Trust subcontracts supply service from a local acute Trust (Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WSHT)). WSHT utilise Wellsky as their pharmacy stock control solution. The Trust also uses this subcontracted service to supply stock and certain medicines (e.g. clozapine) to our community-based patients. The other main areas of medicines supply are via FP10 prescriptions in community, and homecare service (Polarspeed) for the supply of long acting injections to community patients.
