Sustainable Procurement Support for Welsh Public Sector
Descriptions
The main purpose of the work is to stimulate greater demand for recycled, re-usable and refurbished products and for products with lower waste impacts through embedding sustainable procurement in tenders and contracts. This will also include economic and social elements of sustainability.This will be achieved through provision of targeted assistance to public sector organisations in Wales, and, where relevant their private sector supply chains to secure voluntary commitments to embed sustainable public procurement strategies, standards and targets to include re-use opportunities within organisational tenders and contracts.The project goals for the work are to provide the assistance to a minimum of 15 organisations/and or individual procurements with the objective of influencing £300m expenditure in tenders and contracts.
