As part of the Government Diamond Office's operating model, imports and exports of rough diamonds are inspected to ensure compliance with the Kimberley Process requirements. The role of a Sworn Diamond Expert involves attending these inspections accompanied by a staff member of the Government Diamond Office, valuating the import or export, and providing the Government Diamond Office with a detailed report.
