T16 (14) Provision of a Hydraulic Ring Main System for Swansea University

The University seeks to appoint a Contractor for the Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of a Hydraulic Ring Main System (HRMS) in the Institute of Structural Materials (ISM) building of the Science and Innovation Campus (SAIC).The Contractor will design, supply, install and maintain a HRMS which is sufficiently robust in accordance with normal industry standards. The design shall take into full consideration and enable utilisation of the mechanical test frames in operation on the SAIC of at least 80%, with operations spanning 24 hours / 365 days per year.The initial Contract will include the design, supply and installation of the HRMS. It is envisaged that a one year service and maintenance contract will then be entered into by the University, though the University may consider extending this initial maintenance and service period.Following the expiry of the initial service/maintenance period, the University may negotiate with the Contractor for ongoing service and maintenance provision at the discretion of the University.The Institute of Structural Materials of Swansea University wishes to purchase a hydraulic ring main that will service a total of thirty nine mechanical test frames of varying scale, load capacity and critical flow rate.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
