Targeted Short Breaks Provision for Children and Young People with a Disability/Complex Needs

Descriptions

A range of providers are required to meet the outcomes of the overarching specification for short breaks. There is however no obligation to award the contract/s following this tender exercise. The aim of the exercise is to award a range of services within the specified financial envelope. The overall contract value is £110,000. The demand in Barnsley for a short break continues to grow at a time when pressure on existing resource is increasing therefore all commissioned services will need to demonstrate best value both at the point of tender and through the lifetime of the contract. It is expected that contract values will vary between services/providers due to differences in outputs, activity and complexity of need/age. Therefore providers must clearly outline in their tender submission the level and type of service they aim to provide and the cost of this service. This should include: Information in relation to staffing (ratios/experience) which will link to complexity of need in relation to provision provided. Outputs (numbers of children and duration/frequency of activities) What it is that will be delivered, the cost of this provision and how the cost will be profiled. All interested organisations must complete the response document provided and be aware that in addition to this document a presentation will also be required. The presentation will be 10 minutes in length with time at the end for questions. The presentation will be delivered to a panel of children and young people who may potentially access your service. The title of the presentation is 'All About My Service'. The panel will score your presentation and this score will be transferred into the tender evaluation process. Criteria for the presentation will be published via YORtender before the closing date for the tender. Provider questions: 28 January 2016 to 9 February 2016 Tender submission deadline: 18 February 2016 at 5pm 19 February 2016 providers notified of presentation slot 22 February 2016 presentation to the children and young people's panel at Greenacre School between 9.30 and 12 noon. 23 February 2016 Tender Evaluation The provision we expect to commission will cover a wider range of activities which will ideally include; sport/active recreation, arts/media, and adventure/outdoor etc.. Our ambition is to make the programme as varied and engaging as possible and the evaluation panel will be willing to consider any suitable proposed activity. The contract/s is being offered for one year only. The contract will be subject to ongoing funding and spending reviews and a period of notice will be built into the contract. The contract start date will be 1 April 2016. During the contracted period services must demonstrate a willingness to develop their services in line with the personalisation agenda. On this basis, we would very much welcome interest from providers who can demonstrate the strength of the child and family's voice in the development of se...(cont)
