Descriptions
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for a PeacePlus Strabane Youth Programme. This tender will deliver a 2 year youth project based in Strabane town and surrounding hinterlands. The project will be supporting youth volunteering and citizenship, capacity building and community engagement – needs expressed by young people themselves from the area. A full-time youth worker for 2 years (ideally based in Strabane or in close proximity to Strabane) will be built into the programme. The local co-design process indicated a strong need for this project as youth provision in this highly deprived area is currently only provided on a part time basis 2-3 nights with limited resources. Current provision is across various community Centres in the Strabane town area, providing limited service which generally excludes youth from outside of the town centre in the surrounding rural areas due to lack of transport.
