Trinity South & Dooley Cathodic Protection – Port of Felixstowe
Descriptions
The work for the cathodic protection (CP) at Trinity South and Dooley at the Port of Felixstowe includes the design, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of a galvanic (sacrificial) aluminium anode system to the seaward face of the existing steel sheet piles (generally Larssen 6 and Frodingham 5) and tubular king piles that form the main quay walls to Trinity South and Dooley.
The Works also include the CP to the tubular support piles and the submerged elements of the lifting frame structures to both RoRo 3 and those remaining on RoRo 4.
The work also requires the removal and disposal of the existing cathodic protection system, comprising brackets and anodes, which are now coming to the end of their effective life. The existing brackets may be retained if the Contractor opts to use them for the new CP system.
