To undertake a study to understand and quantify the additional socio-economic benefits, which may be realisable by the healthcare industry through the further development of the heatwave and cold weather alert service and use of the 3-month seasonal outlook. The study should consider the impact of improvement, where possible in financial terms, to the services on - •The value placed on their well-being by at-risk individuals; •The value placed by commercial care service providers on the well-being of their at-risk individuals; •The reduction in burden to public sector health care professionals (volume of hospital admissions, ambulance services, out-of-hours services, GP visits and consultations etc); •The national 'value of life';
