Temporary Landscape Architecture Assistant (Consultancy)

Consultancy applications are invited from Landscape and multi-disciplined practices who are able to provide a NAMED Chartered Landscape Architect to work within the Countryside and Landscape Services Section of Caerphilly County Borough Council.*It is envisaged that the contract will be for a period of up to 12 months subject to mutual consent with an option to extend for a further 6 months. The initial 6 month period will be subject to a Minimum of 2 days (15 hours) per week with an option to extend thereafter subject to mutual consent. *The post will be subject to regular reviews by supervisory officers, which must be passed in order for the post to continue.*The post is based at the council offices in Pontllanfraith. *Travelling expenses whilst on council business will be payable at the councils standard rates.*Invoices supported by time sheets will be payable at not less than monthly intervals.The post holder must:*Be a Chartered Landscape Architect with a minimum of 10 years relevant post Chartership experience.*Be able to demonstrate experience in all aspects of design and contract management on projects up to a value of £200,000.*Have AutoCAD experience.Town and Country Planning Department / Local Authority experience would be beneficial for this role.Projects undertaken will be primarily rural and urban fringe related and is likely to include:*Supervision of existing works and maintenance contracts i.e. improvements to farm boundaries, woodland planting on reclamation sites, small scale environmental improvement schemes, highway schemes.*Management and site supervision of landscape elements within three new school projects. *Preparation of draft schemes and cost estimates for grant applications.*Detail design, contract preparation and management of small-scale environmental improvement schemes. *Provision of Landscape Design Advice and Support to all directorates within the Authority.*Updating standard details, specification clauses, general office duties etc. Confirmation of the level of Professional Indemnity Insurance held by your company will be required.
