The School of Sports and Exercise Sciences at Swansea University are require the manufacture and installation of a bespoke self-contained, fully controllable Environmental Chamber. This chamber will be housed within the walls of an existing research laboratory. The chamber will be used for Sports Science Thermoregulation and / or Humidity experiments with human test subjects. All works are to be completed and chamber fully operational by November 28th 2019 at the latest. Dimensions as set out in the Specifications are as guidance only - contractor will need to check and confirm on site before commencing construction. Air conditioning and evaporator plant can be located above the chamber or adjacent to the chamber on an external roof space. If the plant is located externally, then contractor is to house the plant suitably. The existing laboratory outside the chamber will be used by other researchers, so noise needs to be kept to a minimum, so this is why plant may need to be located outside the building on a roof adjacent to the chamber.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
