MCC wish to secure architectural services from a passionate Architect/Architectural Practice that can evidence work of similar community schemes with particular emphasis on comparable projects and locations. We are seeking someone who wants to help us make a real difference to the communities of Magor and Undy. The successful architect must be able to work closely with a project team working towards the same vision and goal.Scope of WorksThe Council wishes to appoint an Architect to: -•Work with our in house project team and MUCH representatives.•Prepare ‘sketch’ drawing proposals for pre-application discussions.•Prepare detailed drawings for planning application purposes, including hard and soft landscaping.•Prepare a Design and Access Statement.Required Outputs•To design a building that provides a flexible space for social, cultural, leisure, sporting and other community activities, meetings and events.•To provide a building that meets the minimum ‘core’ accommodation requirements for a small village and community hall as set out in ‘Sport England Design Guidance Note’.•To provide a multi-functional hall facility that is flexible in its design and use and is fit-for-purpose, meeting the minimum standards and specification for a one-court badminton size hall (18.0 x 10.0m).•To be designed with the potential for future extension.•To provide a range of indoor community facilities as per the ‘must have’ community wishes.•To be designed with ‘access for all’ in mind to ensure inclusive access for the whole community.•To provide a sustainable building design that considers current and future energy arrangements with the ability to meet the operating efficiency and comfort for all users of the building.*Please note that MCC will manage the planning application process.
