The Authority is looking to increase its use of direct action as a means of resolving breaches of planning control. Contracts will vary in nature, but are likely to include such work as: removing vehicles and static / mobile caravans to secure storage locations, and provision of secure storage facilities; removing unauthorised earthworks and hardstandings; demolishing buildings and removing rubble to licensed tip; clearing land of miscellaneous scrap materials, etc. to licensed tip; restoration, regrading, planting and seeding of affected land; construction of earth hedgebanks, fencing, etc.Work undertaken as part of these contracts will invariably be controversial, and may attract opposition from involved parties either through legal channels, or directly on sites. Successful contractors will, therefore, be required to provide the following as part of any contracts let:-Full inventory of materials, equipment, etc., removed from sites.-Comprehensive photographic record of site works undertaken.-Satisfactory security arrangements for the protection of site personnel and activities.-Liaison as necessary with police in advance of planned works.
